Karafuu Hotel Beach Resort
One of the most luxurious hotels on the east coast of Zanzibar, Karafuu Beach Resort has been granted an international five star rating. It's ideally located, 65km from Zanzibar Town, on the Eastern Coast of Zanzibar Island on a blissful stretch of palm-fringed beach with white sand and dazzling blue water - just what everyone is after.
The spacious reception area is impressive for its imposing appearance, especially considering that it has been perfectly built with local makuti (palm thatch). There is an enormous pool around which guests soak up the sun. The clientele is largely international, so there is a variety of accents. A little further along is the beach with a generous strip of sand with sun lounges set.
Warm hospitality comes naturally to the Swahili staff, who are impeccably dressed in long, robed uniforms. You are always welcomed with a local fruit cocktail and a fresh towel and there is always someone on hand to assist you with a smile.
The hotel has all expected facilities: fully equipped dive and water sports center, boutiques, tennis courts and satellite television. The rooms are extremely pleasant and styled in a traditional Zanzibar theme. Being so spacious and comfortable, they provide a welcome relief from the sun after spending the day by the pool or diving and lazing around the beach.
The eastern side of the island is greatly influenced by the tide. Clients can sunbathe on the beach and slip straight into the water and swim far out when the tide is high. When the tide recedes, it can be fun walking on the reef, to look for marine life in the shallow waters.
Karafuu is the only hotel on the east coast where it is possible to enjoy a comfortable and safe swim in the ocean at a low tide. A concrete path in front of the hotel leads clients from the beach to a permanent natural depression in the ocean just 200 meters offshore, offering a giant natural swimming pool deep enough for small boats to motor in.

On the beach front facing the Ocean, serving lunches and sandwiches for those clients in half board basis only. Open from 13.00 to 14.30 and "a la carte" menus for fresh sea food dinners from 19.30 to 21.30 (clients in full board discounted).

An open air structure for a maximum of20 people, decorated with palm fronds and located 200 metres in front of Kae beach in the Indian Ocean, serving a lobster All IIn menu (upon request and tide permitting)
• The Main Cocktail Bar
By the lounge for evening entertainments and music open from 10.00 to 01.00
• The Pool Bar
For daily refreshments and aperitifs open from 09.00 to 18.00
The Dive Center
The dive center is located inside Karafuu hotel.
On the 1st of October 2006, Karafuu Hotel has taken back the management of the dive center. We wanted our dive center to have the same quality that has given Karafuu hotel such a good reputation.
For this we have invested in quality new equipment and above all in a team completly dedicated to our custumers.

-The "Masai Village“ (located within an African village, perfectly reproduced into Karafuu Hotel premises) open just once or twice a week for Swahili dinners and folkloristic dancers performances only.

Junior Suites
They are all all sea facing with spectacular front sea view.They are situated along the beachfront under a beautiful palm-grove or on a small hill and comprising: entrance through private garden, ample bedroom, dressing room, bathroom in Carrara marble, front sea view veranda with 2 wooden chaises longues and table and one soft local sofa, mosquito net, ceiling fan, independent air conditioning, hot and cold running water, hair-dryer, telephone, minibar, tea/coffee maker and safe box.
Cottages
They are are situated on a gentle slope just behind the junior suites in the second raw. Most of them offer a partial view of the sea through the lush palm tree tops and comprise: entrance through private garden, ample bedroom, dressing room, bathroom in Carrara marble, breathtaking view veranda with 2 chaises longues and table, mosquito net, ceiling fan, independent air conditioning, hot and cold running water, hair-dryer, telephone and minibar.
Superior Rooms
They are are positioned at the top of the slope in the lush tropical gardens. They comprise of: bedroom, wardrobe, bathroom, garden view veranda with 2 chaises-longues and table, mosquito net, ceiling fan, independent air conditioning, hot and cold running water, hair-dryer, telephone and minibar. All have easy access to the long stretch of beach.
All the rooms were thoughtfully designed to blend in with the environment and were built with local materials: roofs made of makuti (palm-thatch), walls of coral and all furnished with traditional Zanzibar furniture.
In order not to spoil the romance of a beach holidaythere are no televisions in the rooms.IIf you need to catch upon news, sports or watch a movie, there's a satellite television area in the lounge.

Rates include
-All rates shown are per room/suite and includes all taxes. Rates are based on half board.
-Half board consists of breakfast and dinner served at the main restaurant.

-4 X 4 Land Cruiser, the price per car (maximum 4 persons) will cost USD 115.00
-Minibus, the price per car (maximum of 6 persons) will cost USD 95.00
Honeymooners
Honeymooner couples will receive a fruit & flower basket upon arrival and, if available, a free upgrade. A 10% is granted to the couple for the whole stay (periods from 21/07/07 to 31/08/07, 23/12/07 to 06/01/08 and 21/07/08 to 31/08/08 excluded). “Honeymooners” must be clearly indicated on the booking voucher or the benefits will not be granted.
Mandatory Supplements
-On the night of the 31st December 2007, a compulsory supplement will apply as follows:
. USD 45.00 per adult
. USD 22.50 for children aged between 6 and 13
. Free of charge for the children under the age of 6
Payment Requirements
For your convenience, Internet Hotel Rental Group offers secure online payments with the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please note that, should you prefer, you are able to supply your credit card information by fax. We are unable to accept your reservation request without credit card details, though you will only be billed once your booking has been confirmed, the credit card information verified and our confirmation voucher sent to you by email.

-Upon confirmation, the full amount will be charged.
Cancellation Policy
During Christmas & New Year and Between 21/07 – 31/08)
-If cancellation is received 62 days or more prior to arrival, then a 15% of the full amount will be lost.
-If cancellation is received 61 days or less, then the full amount will apply as a penalty fee.
-No shows will result on the full amount being charged as a cancellation fee.
Rest Of The Year
-If cancellation is received 46 days or more prior to arrival, then a 15% of the full amount will be lost.
-If cancellation is received 45 days or less, then the full amount will apply as a penalty fee.
-No shows will result on the full amount being charged as a cancellation fee.
Children Policy
-Children under the age of of 6 can stay free of charge.
-Children aged between 6 and 13 will get a 50% discount on the room rates.
-Children aged 14 and over will be considered as adults.
Liability
Internet Travel Group acts as intermediary between all hotels, transport operators, tourist attraction companies, and local tourist offices providing the services. Price & Payment
Unless otherwise stated, at the time of booking only a deposit is due. The remanining balance is payable on check-in and charged by the hotel direct. hotel-savings.com accepts Visa, Mastercard & American Express.
For security purposes, should your reservation incur a charge in excess of USD 400.00, you must submit a signed credit card authorization form. This will be supplied upon confirmation of the reservation. If you fail to fax across this documentation within 48 hours, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation. Please note that as per our cancellation policy, there may be a fee for this.
Flight Information
If you are to arrive at your hotel after 5pm, please provide Hotelrentalgroup with your flight information, so that we may be able to advise the hotel of what time they can expect you. Should your flight be delayed, we strongly recommend that you contact the hotel directly to inform them of this.
Period of Stay / Rate Calculation
All stays are calculated and sold "per night". We can only guarantee a room until noon (12pm). Late check-outs can be requested at the moment of reservation in the additional comments box, but may come at an additional fee (usually 50% of the nightly rate).
Cancellation Policies & Charges
Cancellations must be received in writing by e-mail, with as much notice as possible. Penalty fees may apply. Please check the terms & conditions, as these policies vary from hotel to hotel.
Cancellation Charges On All Reservations
-On all confirmed reservations, 20% of the total amount will be lost.
-Further cancellation charges may apply depending on the hotel.

No Shows
No Shows will result in a 100% penalty fee.
Reservation & Confirmation
All reservations made on the web sites operated by hotel-savings.com will receive a temporary confirmation number. This temporary number does not mean that the hotel room is available and is only for administrative purposes. Your final confirmation will be sent to you on your official confirmation voucher within 24 hours, unless, due to unforeseen circumstances, the hotel does not get back to us within this time frame. hotel-savings.com is not responsible for any such delays.
Early departures
In addition to the standard cancellation policy, we would like to stress the point that the hotels are very strict regarding changes to the length of clients’ stays. Therefore we would like to inform you that clients departing before their booked check out date will be charged for the remaining nights and, no being made for unused nights.
Check In & Check Out Policy
Your room will be made available to you from 14h00 (unless stated otherwise in the terms & conditions of the hotel). Should you require a guaranteed early check in, the room must be booked and paid for in full for the day preceeding your stay.
Check out time is 12:00 hrs. For a guaranteed late check-out, clients should book for an additional night, charged at 100%.

All reservations made by clients are subject to our terms and conditions. No other terms, conditions and warranties, expressed or implied by law, custom and course of dealing shall form part of any contract between hotel-savings.com and our clients except for those terms imposed by law where application is mandatory.
The client acknowledges that in making a reservation with hotel-savings.com they do so only on the basis of the material contained in the hotel-savings.com Web Site or relevant advertising medium. All other statements or representations made by hotel-savings.com, its employees, agents or sub-contractors are of no effect unless confirmed in writing by hotel-savings.com to the client.
hotel-savings.com sources hotels from various hotel companies in the countries in which it operates. The condition of the stay will be subject to the law of the country in which it is supplied to you. You will be subject to its terms and conditions and local law.
hotel-savings.com reserves the right to pass on to the client any government increase in local VAT or other taxes that may be introduced after a reservation is made. Any additional charges payable on arrival are subject to local VAT at the prevailing rate in that country.
The liability of hotel-savings.com to the client for any loss, problem, damage or cancellation, whether arising out of negligence, breach of contract, error or any other cause shall not exceed the invoiced total value of the confirmation voucher supplied by hotel-savings.com.
