Bluebay Beach Resort opened in December 1999 and offers a wide range of facilities in addition to the magic Indian Ocean "Spice island" itself.
Bluebay Beach Resort is situated on the most beautiful 25 acre site with its bedroom cottages located on rising ground overlooking verdant gardens, the public areas, the pool, the more than 1,000 beautiful palm trees, the sparkling white beach and the azure sea with its coral reef offering particularly warm and safe swimming.

Restaurant and Bars
The Bluebay Beach Resort 'Makuti Restaurant' enjoys magnificent views over the modern deck-level swimming pool to the ocean beyond and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner within our guests meal plan arrangements.
The main bar located beside the swimming pool serves a wide selection of European and South African wines, local and imported beers, spirits and minerals as well as coffee, Cappuccino and Espresso.
The Beach Bar and Restaurant, as the name implies, is situated on the very edge of the beautiful Indian Ocean and is an ideal place for guests to sip cold drinks or to enjoy a feast of seafood specialties, pizzas prepared in our authentic wood fired oven as well as other light fare, all served in an informal setting with toes in the sand and a magnificent thatched roof to shade you from the hot tropical sun.
Facilities
Bluebay Beach Resort operates a high quality, tastefully decorated and well stocked Boutique offering fashion garments ,accessories and crafts sourced primarily from the East African region. Also available are a wide range of products from books to postcards and suntan lotions to toiletries.
The Hotel has a fully air conditioned Conference Room which accommodates up to 75 people seated in theatre style. The equipment available includes a slide projector, video projection system, overhead projector and PA system.
A fully equipped Guest Services and Business Centre is available to guests and offers secretarial services, e-mail and Internet access as well as fax and photocopying facilities.
Other facilities include an open air discotheque, a wide screen TV viewing facility, guest safes, a large fresh water swimming pool with adjoining open-air Jacuzzi and children's paddling pool, a children's club ( on demand ), a well equipped Dispensary with Doctor on call and the most fantastic Spa in East Africa.
Sports Facilities
The hotel provides a Fitness Centre featuring a range of modern equipment made in Italy by Technogym, a flood lit tennis court, 5 star PADI Scuba Diving Centre (One Ocean Diving) and a Water Sports Centre with windsurfers, canoes and sailing boats. Table tennis as well as snooker and billiards tables are also available.
The Spa
Being in harmony with the environment have always been a priority at Bluebay. Keeping to our ethic, we have created the most fantastic Spa in East Africa. By using primarily natural material the Spa has a relaxed tropical island feel. The wooden deck, the thatch roof built with palm trees growing up through it, the splashing water and the abundance of beautiful exotic plants makes the Spa the ultimate place to completely rejuvenate your body and elevate your mind.
A lifting sense of wellbeing engulfs you as you are guided by our professionals through our different treatment rooms, specialists at adapting to each persons requirements, they massages you in airy sea view rooms, over looking the beach and the turquoise ocean beyond.
As with everything at the Spa, the skin care products have been selected for their pure and natural ingredients. Ror a really memorable experience ask your therapists to blend and mix the local spices and fruits right in front of you. All these natural freshly prepared treatments are famous for their virtues for the body and aromas to relax the mind.
During these days of leisure, stimulate your taste buds as well, try out the health food options created by our connoisseur chefs using ingredients grown in our own gardens.
The Environment
As a guest of our hotel, you will be pleased to know that Bluebay Beach Resort is committed to the preservation of the environment. These are some of the ways in which we protecting our environment for future generations.
We employ reverse osmosis technology to purify underground water in order to make it fit for human consumption. This reduces the impact of the hotel on Zanzibar's fresh water resources.
We have taken this one step further by also installing a wastewater treatment plant which recycles all room, kitchen and laundry wastewater. This in turn is used to maintain our beautiful tropical gardens thus further reducing our impact on the islands water supply.
The lush tropical gardens have themselves been landscaped using indigenous trees, plants, shrubs and ground cover in order to attract the varied bird species of the island as well as to provide an insight to visitors of the diverse tropical vegetation on Zanzibar.
All guestrooms have been equipped with modern energy saving devices and all electrical installations employ the latest in energy efficient technology. All refrigerators and air conditioners also comply with the latest regulations concerning the use of CFC's and other ozone harmful gases.
Garbage is separated at source and what cannot be disposed of in an appropriate manner on the island is incinerated in a purpose-designed incinerator on the hotel premises. The resultant ashes are used to fertilise the hotels lush grounds.
We have even taken a great deal of trouble to protect our environment from noise pollution by installing our standby generator in a soundproof structure which emits less than 70 dBa at 1 meter.
Bluebay Beach Resort has been officially recognised and commended by the Government of Zanzibar for its outstanding contribution to the preservation of the environment of the island.

The Rooms
Bluebay Beach Resort offers 80 Superior rooms, 6 Deluxe rooms and 2 Sultan rooms, all of which enjoy magnificent views of the Indian Ocean. Each consists of spacious bedroom, separate dressing room, en suite bathroom and verandah or balcony.
All rooms are tastefully decorated using traditional Zanzibari furniture to include large four poster beds with mosquito nets, a writing bureau, coffee table and easy chairs. Split level air conditioners, ceiling fans, satellite TV's, mini-bars, hair dryers and telephones add a touch of luxury to each room whilst the presence of smoke detectors and fire alarms are a sign of our commitment to the safety and well-being of our guests.
Sultan Rooms
For more than 200 years, the islands of Unguja and Pemba along with much of the coast of Eastern Africa was ruled by the mighty Sultans of Zanzibar.
They lived in splendor in their magnificent palaces where large, spacious rooms contained every creature comfort imaginable.
At Bluebay Beach Resort, we have created two "super-deluxe" rooms where we feel sure that the Sultans themselves would have wanted to stay.
Situated on the very edge of the Indian Ocean only a few metres from the brilliant, white sandy beach of Kiwengwa, these two Sultan Rooms are attended by Butlers, dressed in flowing traditional Swahili robes, whose sole aim is to ensure that your every need is met and surpassed.
Spacious verandahs, furnished in true Zanzibar style, provide the ideal location for washing away your worries and your cares while the ample rooms with their 8 feet 'Sultan size' beds enable you to experience first hand what it must have been like to be a real Sultan.
Of course, the Sultans never had access to all the technology that is to be found in our Sultan Rooms, but we feel certain that were they to pay us a surprise visit today, they would approve of all of the modern conveniences we have included.

How to get to the hotel? |

Bluebay Beach Resort is situated on the finest wide, white, sandy beach on the island of Zanzibar. Located on the East Coast in an area known as Kiwengwa, the hotel is only 35 minutes drive from the town and the airport on a recently built tarmac road.

Currency
All rates shown are in US Dollars (US$).
Rates include
-All rates shown are per room/suite and includes all taxes. Rates are based on half board.
-Rates also include table tennis, floodlit tennis court (equipment for hire) and the use of the fitness center (does not include the Spa).
Mandatory Surcharges
-For the New Year’s Gala, the mandatory supplement will be of USD 40.00 per adult per day and of USD 20.00 per child for children under the age of 12.
Optional Meal Supplements
-Full board will come at a rate of USD 20.00 per adult per day and of USD 10.00 per child under the age of 12.
Transfers
Airport transfers can be arranged with the hotel at USD 25.00 per person each way. Single travellers will be charged USD 50.00 each way.
Minimum Stay Requirements
-There is a 5 nights minimum stay required for all stays during the Christmas & New Year period.
Honeymooners
Honeymooners will receive the following Bluebay is informed at the time of booking that the booking is a honeymoon office:
-a complimentary bottle of wine and flowers upon arrival
-an upgrade where possible
-suite bookings will receive an “under the stars” evening, weather permitting, where dinner is either served on the verandah of their room or on the beach at the guests preference with a bottle of wine.
-honeymooners on a minimum of a 7 nights stay will receive a seafood dinner in addition.
Payment Requirements
For your convenience, Internet Travel Group offers secure online payments with the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please note that, should you prefer, you are able to supply your credit card information by fax. We are unable to accept your reservation request without credit card details, though you will only be billed once your booking has been confirmed, the credit card information verified and our confirmation voucher sent to you by email.
For all reservations
-Upon confirmation, the full amount will be charged.
Cancellation Policy
-If cancellation is received 23 days or more prior to arrival, then an 18% of the full amount will be lost.
-If cancellation is received between 22 and 15 days prior to arrival, an additional 35% penalty fee will apply.
-If cancellation is received between 14 and 8 days prior to arrival, an additional 50% penalty fee will apply.
-If cancellation is received 7 days or less, then the full amount will apply as a penalty fee.
-No shows will result on the full amount being charged as a cancellation fee.
Children Policy
-Children under the age of of 2 can stay free of charge.
-Children aged between 2 and 12 will get a 50% discount on the room rates, when sharing with 2 adults. If sharingwith one adult, the child will pay 80% of the adult rate.
-Children aged 12 and over will be considered as adults.
Liability
Internet Travel Group acts as intermediary between all hotels, transport operators, tourist attraction companies, and local tourist offices providing the services. Internet Travel Group is therefore not responsible for any loss, injury or damage sustained by the tourists; including those occurring outside of the touring programs. Additional expenses incurred due to delay, accident, acts of God or political actions / unrest must be borne by the tourists. Programs and prices, services and conditions are based on those valid at the time of being posted on the site. They are therefore subject to change without advance notice before or during the tour / stay / excursion / car rental. A submitted reservation request is indicative of the tourist agreement to the above conditions.

Price & Payment
Unless otherwise stated, at the time of booking only a deposit is due. The remanining balance is payable on check-in and charged by the hotel direct. hotel-savings.com accepts Visa, Mastercard & American Express.
For security purposes, should your reservation incur a charge in excess of USD 400.00, you must submit a signed credit card authorization form. This will be supplied upon confirmation of the reservation. If you fail to fax across this documentation within 48 hours, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation. Please note that as per our cancellation policy, there may be a fee for this.
Flight Information
If you are to arrive at your hotel after 5pm, please provide Hotelrentalgroup with your flight information, so that we may be able to advise the hotel of what time they can expect you. Should your flight be delayed, we strongly recommend that you contact the hotel directly to inform them of this.
Period of Stay / Rate Calculation
All stays are calculated and sold "per night". We can only guarantee a room until noon (12pm). Late check-outs can be requested at the moment of reservation in the additional comments box, but may come at an additional fee (usually 50% of the nightly rate).
Cancellation Policies & Charges
Cancellations must be received in writing by e-mail, with as much notice as possible. Penalty fees may apply. Please check the terms & conditions, as these policies vary from hotel to hotel.
Cancellation Charges On All Reservations
-On all confirmed reservations, 20% of the total amount will be lost.
-Further cancellation charges may apply depending on the hotel.

No Shows
No Shows will result in a 100% penalty fee.
Reservation & Confirmation
All reservations made on the web sites operated by hotel-savings.com will receive a temporary confirmation number. This temporary number does not mean that the hotel room is available and is only for administrative purposes. Your final confirmation will be sent to you on your official confirmation voucher within 24 hours, unless, due to unforeseen circumstances, the hotel does not get back to us within this time frame. hotel-savings.com is not responsible for any such delays.
Early departures
In addition to the standard cancellation policy, we would like to stress the point that the hotels are very strict regarding changes to the length of clients’ stays. Therefore we would like to inform you that clients departing before their booked check out date will be charged for the remaining nights and, no being made for unused nights.
Check In & Check Out Policy
Your room will be made available to you from 14h00 (unless stated otherwise in the terms & conditions of the hotel). Should you require a guaranteed early check in, the room must be booked and paid for in full for the day preceeding your stay.
Check out time is 12:00 hrs. For a guaranteed late check-out, clients should book for an additional night, charged at 100%.

All special offers, packages and discounts over our standard rates are offered subject to availability. hotel-savings.com cannot accept any responsibility in the unlikely event that these are temporarily unavailable.
Credit Card
In order to secure a room, it is mandatory to have a credit card.
General Conditions and liability
All reservations made by clients are subject to our terms and conditions. No other terms, conditions and warranties, expressed or implied by law, custom and course of dealing shall form part of any contract between hotel-savings.com and our clients except for those terms imposed by law where application is mandatory.
The client acknowledges that in making a reservation with hotel-savings.com they do so only on the basis of the material contained in the hotel-savings.com Web Site or relevant advertising medium. All other statements or representations made by hotel-savings.com, its employees, agents or sub-contractors are of no effect unless confirmed in writing by hotel-savings.com to the client.
hotel-savings.com sources hotels from various hotel companies in the countries in which it operates. The condition of the stay will be subject to the law of the country in which it is supplied to you. You will be subject to its terms and conditions and local law.
hotel-savings.com reserves the right to pass on to the client any government increase in local VAT or other taxes that may be introduced after a reservation is made. Any additional charges payable on arrival are subject to local VAT at the prevailing rate in that country.
The liability of hotel-savings.com to the client for any loss, problem, damage or cancellation, whether arising out of negligence, breach of contract, error or any other cause shall not exceed the invoiced total value of the confirmation voucher supplied by hotel-savings.com.
